<description>Good post. In item #4 you mentioned engaging analyst relations (AR) as an internal partner. This is a great idea as analyst firms large (e.g., Gartner and Forrester) and small (e.g., Redmonk and Pike Research) have dedicated analysts covering green tech issues. AR is always in need of interesting new stories to tell the analysts, but rarely has the bandwidth to search out every potentially interesting activity within the company.

To be truly effective working with AR, folks concerned with sustainability should be willing to use the analysts as sources of information, not just someone to tell your story to. When analysts perceived they are being engaged they are more likely to take an active interest in the vendor.
